Who we are
Partsift ("Partsift," "we," "us") provides AI-powered search for industrial product distributors. This policy describes how we handle data when you visit our website at partsift.com or use our services.
Geographic scope
Our website and services are operated from the United States and designed for businesses in the United States. Information you submit is processed in the United States. If you access the website from another country, you do so on your own initiative and consent to that processing. Our privacy practices are designed to comply with applicable U.S. federal and state law.
What we collect
When you request a demo or lost orders report: We collect the name, work email address, optional website URL, and optional website platform you submit through our contact form. This form is processed by Formspree, Inc. on our behalf. We use this information to respond to your inquiry.
When you visit our website: Our hosting and infrastructure providers generate standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring page, timestamps) for security, rate-limiting, and diagnostic purposes. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Website analytics: We may use website analytics services (for example, a privacy-focused tool such as Plausible, or a more general tool such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate visitor traffic and improve the site. Where we use such a service, we will list it under "Third-party services" below. We do not use these services to build advertising profiles, run retargeting campaigns, or identify individual visitors.
Cookies: We do not currently set non-essential cookies on this website. If we add analytics or preference cookies in the future, we will provide appropriate notice and any controls required by law.
When you use our search product: If you are a Partsift customer, we process search queries from your website visitors to provide search results. That data is governed by your customer agreement. See "Customer data" below.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide through our contact form to:
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule a demo or pilot
- Prepare a search-quality analysis of your website (if you provided a URL)
- Follow up about our services
We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not use it for targeted advertising or to build advertising profiles.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Customer data
If you are a Partsift customer, the data we process on your behalf — product catalogs, search queries from your visitors, analytics, cross-references, and merchandising rules — is governed by your customer agreement, not this privacy policy. In summary:
- Each customer's data is logically isolated from other customers' data using tenant identifiers; one customer cannot access another customer's data through the product
- We do not use customer data to train publicly shared AI models. We work with AI service providers whose default terms do not use API inputs or outputs to train their models for other customers
- We only read product information that is publicly available on your website unless you give us additional data
- We do not share one customer's data with another customer
- Within 30 days of customer agreement termination, we delete or, at your request, export customer data, except where retention is required by law
- We may keep and use de-identified, aggregated data derived from customer data — for example, anonymized usage patterns and benchmarks — to operate and improve the services. De-identified data does not identify any specific customer, end user, supplier, or product, and is not subject to deletion on termination
- If your use of our service requires a Data Processing Agreement, contact us and we will work with you on appropriate terms
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate our website and product:
- Formspree — processes contact form submissions (their privacy policy)
- Bunny Fonts — serves typefaces used on this website (their privacy policy)
- Cloudflare — hosts and serves this website (their privacy policy)
If we add a website analytics provider or other third-party service in the future, we will update this list.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions for up to 12 months after your last interaction with us. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Customer data is deleted within 30 days of customer agreement termination, except where retention is required by law. You can request earlier deletion of information you submitted by sending us a note through our contact form.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop processing personal information we hold about you. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, send us a note through our contact form and indicate that it is a privacy request.
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law granting similar rights — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, Oregon, and other states with similar laws — you may exercise those rights by contacting us in the same way.
Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach that materially affects your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators without undue delay and as required by applicable law.
Children
Our website and services are intended for business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will note the new date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
